There are two types of guide pillars and guide sleeve units for the guidance mode and accessories of the mold: (A) external guidance type (mold base type or leading guide), (B) inner guide type (or auxiliary guidance). In addition, in line with the requirements of precision molds, the use of external guidance and internal guidance is highly demanding.
(1) Externally guided type: generally used in molds that do not require high precision, most of them are sold as a unit with the mold base, and the main function is to align the cutting parts when the mold is installed on the punch, and there is almost no dynamic accuracy maintenance effect in stamping processing.
(2) Internally guided type: Due to the progress of mold processing machines, it has become rapidly popular. In addition to the alignment of the cutting parts when the die is installed on the punching press, it also has the effect of maintaining the dynamic accuracy in the stamping process.
(3) Combination of external guidance and internal guidance: a pair of molds uses both external guidance and internal guidance devices.
